I just completed another semester of school.  It was a great learning experience to try several art mediums I had never explored in the past:  painting, ceramics and stained glass.  I learned some things about myself and gained a lot of self confidence.  While I'm looking forward to taking Painting II, Ceramics II and Stained Glass II in the fall, I'm really excited to have the summer off to continue work on my photographic portfolio.  My goal is to take my photography to the next level and finally take the steps necessary to establish a business.  I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I'm excited to roll up my sleeves and make it happen.  I will be opening a photographic studio in July at the Western Ave Studios in Lowell, MA.  If you are ever in the area, please feel free to stop by and say hello.  Now that I can focus on photography for the next few months, I plan to stop by here daily and post images on a weekly basis.  I look forward to re-connecting with the many wonderful artist I have made friends with over the years here on DA.

I want to thank the many wonderful friends of mine here on DA who swung by to wish me well today on my birthday.  As many of you know, I attend school on a full-time basis on top of working a full-time job.  It has been very difficult for me to swing by since school started back up in late January.  I was able to capture a picture today, which I have posted under the title "Christine."  I called it "Christine" because the headlights seemed to come alive like the car in the Stephen king novel / movie "Christine."

It has been really crazy around here the past 4 weeks.  Everything turned out okay, but I had four medical procedures to deal with back in February.  Linda and I lost our beloved West Highland Terrier, Bella to cancer a few weeks ago.  There has been a big hole in our hearts ever since.  Linda and I never had children, so she was like our baby.  As of today, we will add a new addition to our family in late April.  We placed a deposit with a breeder and will be adding a Shiba Inu puppy to our family as soon as she is old enough to leave the breeders care.  She is so darn cute.

I will be signing a lease this week for some studio space at the Western Ave Art Studios in Lowell, MA.  I have never had a studio of my own, but I think it is time to turn my dreams in to a reality.  They are adding severe new studios in the building and it will be ready for me to occupy in June or July.  Here is a link to their site and a video on a news story that was done on the facility.  westernavenuestudios.com

Happy holidays my friends.  I'm sorry that I have had but a few brief appearances here since the beginning of September.  I have a four week break before heading back to the classroom for the spring semester.  I plan on making the most of this time off by getting behind the lens of my camera and visiting DA on a daily basis.  I'll be taking a lot of art courses this next semester:  ceramics, stained glass and art on the web.  I hope you all will stop by over the next few weeks to say hello.  I really do miss you all.  Take care.

I just wanted to let you all know that I miss all of my friends here on DA.  In particular those of you that I have developed close relationships with.  I really do miss our conversations and sharing of images.  I went back to school the first week in September and the workload is overwhelming.  Besides having a full-time job, I am taking three classes this semester.  I start week 6 of 15 this week, so there is light at the end on the tunnel.  I can't wait until the semester is over and I can hang here on a regular basis.  Even though I am not around here often, know that you are always in my thoughts.  Stop by and say hello sometime and let me know what has been going on in your world since we last spoke.  Now that I have gotten accustomed to my new work / school schedule, I will try and make it around here more often.

As you may have noticed, I have posted some designs and illustrations here on DA.  This is out of character for me, but since I am a graphic design major, I have decided to post some of my work here from time to time.  Photography is my love and makes up the greatest majority of my work.  I promise to post more images soon.  If you make it past the design work, you will notice that I posted some new hot air ballon images.  If you follow my work, you can expect to see numerous new landscape, cityscape, hot air balloon and lighthouse images over the next few weeks.  Feel free to stop by and say hello.  I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.  I have four weeks left of freedom before I head back to the classroom.  I'm looking forward to the fall semester.  I'm enrolled in Drawing I, Color & Design and Computer Graphics.  Hopefully these courses will help me to become a better artist.  Thanks to everyone for your continued support, feedback and friendship.
